Windows 365 is a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) that automatically creates a new type of Windows virtual machine known as Cloud PCs. This allows users to access Windows 10 or 11 from various devices, including Windows, iOS, and Android. It offers tailored solutions for organizations of all sizes, enhancing productivity, security, and collaboration.
What are the different versions of Windows 365?
Windows 365 comes in several versions: Windows 365 Business, designed for smaller companies with up to 300 seats; Windows 365 Enterprise, for larger organizations needing unlimited seats and custom Cloud PCs; Windows 365 Government, which serves regulated US government entities; and Windows 365 Frontline, which allows a single license to provision up to three Cloud PCs for non-concurrent use.
How are Cloud PCs created?
Cloud PCs are automatically created by the Windows 365 service when an end user is assigned a Windows 365 license within an appropriate Microsoft Entra user group. Administrators do not need to manually create these Cloud PCs, simplifying the deployment process.
